Welcome to my journey...
If someone would have told me a few years back I'd go on to compete, I'd have laughed and shook my head, "no way could I ever get on stage in a bikini and pose".
And now, here I am getting on stage in my little crystal bikini, posing and showing off all of that hard work that goes into this sport.

I started training late 2013 when I had not long turned 20 years old, I went to the gym on a whim and I didn't really expect to enjoy it, infact I was convinced to go and try it out. Little did I know that it would change my life completely and for the better.
I'd accomplished my first session at the gym and already I was hooked, from that day onwards I was at the gym at least 5 times a week, working muscles I didn't even know existed, lifting weights I never thought I'd be able to and most importantly I was learning. The buzz was amazing, my body was changing rapidly and within a few months my body composition had changed so much, I had little muscles appearing in my arms, legs... I think at this point I was already slightly addicted.
Before this time my eating habits wern't exactly very good. I was one of those young girls that believed in slim fast shakes, eating very little food some days then other days eating too much. Like a lot of people, I was clueless about nutrition. As I continued to train I learnt more about clean eating and I increased my food intake, I'd prepare all of my meals and take them to work with me, at the time I worked in a call centre, everyone there thought I was nuts taking numerous tupperwares full of chicken, rice, veg, homemade chillis, nuts, etc.

I decided in 2015 to take my training to the next level, I was now working in a gym and seeing other people around me dieting for their competitions I wanted to give it a go myself. My first prep was hard, I didn't know what to expect but as I got deeper into the diet it got tougher, training was a struggle and my energy levels were low. That being said I stuck to my plan, I did 2 shows with no placing then on my 3rd one I managed to place 3rd. The feeling when you place, it feels like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders, I was overwhelmed and rememeber crying with joy, "I've done it!!!"
I didn't realise how addictive competing would be. Getting yourself in the best shape of your life, the structure, the discipline and the results are amazing. This lifestyle is one that I wouldn't change for the world, I believe it has made me appriciate a lot more things in life and made me both mentally and physically a stronger person.

Long may my fitness journey continue...
